Personè Palace is located in an ancient aristocratic palace in the historic center of Nardò, an important and very ancient town in Salento.
Thebuilding certainly has 15th-century origins and is probably the oldest aristocratic palace in the town. Its moment of greatest splendor dates back to the Baroque period, when it became the home of the Massa nobles, one of the most powerful families in the area, so wealthy as to own dozens of Masserie throughout the Apulian territory.
The large front door faces Via Lata, the main street of the ancient city wall of Nardò, named "Lata" from the Latin word for wide because of its wide dimensions compared to other public streets of the time.

The beautiful inner courtyard leads to the antique marble staircase to the second floor, where the suites are located.

The restoration work, which began in 2011, took about 3 years, in which the valuable olive wood dowel floors of the 4 main rooms, all the original interior and exterior fixtures, the interior walls, the exterior facades of the hallway and the large entrance hall with the distinctive Art Nouveau-style wrought iron and glass canopy were recovered.
